Source for m16 gray parts
I am looking for a source for M16 gray take down
pins, mag release, bolt release and handguard
Rings. I have used the Naval jelly trick and
Was no satisfied. I know I can send to Vic for
refinishing but his prices are a little excessive. Any
ideas?
Thanks
Curt

If you soak them in Naval Jelly a short time, it makes them grey. Check on AR15.com retro forum for more info...

Look into Duracoat, It's not difficult and they WILL have any shade your after. Good stuff....

Try Dow Arms Room in Florida. They painted and baked an old lower for me a while back and it's an excellent match for the complete Colt top end I bought at KCR several years ago. I don't think it's Duracoat, (I could be wrong), but it is a baked on finish and I'm very pleased. They're email is dowarms@earthlink.net.

Baked on is more along the lines of Cerakote, excellent finish and can be done at home too.
