    pic test

OK, now I've got pics up and I wasn't trying, oh well.

These are the essential pics of that local Longbranch with the looking odd serial number.
Supposedly the rifle came straight from the army like this. The knox, wrist and bolt handle have all been scrubbed (a bit crudely too) until all markings are gone and this little teensy eensy serial is now on the wrist and bolt handle. The receiver/barrel/mag/ metal work has been parkerized or similar. The trigger guard has also been parked but the rear portion missed getting the process and shows shiny blueing, the sort seen on civilian rifles.
The rifle is in nice shape, 2 groove, S for savage wood, not abused at all. The serial is an odd choice for either army or civilians I think.

The owner is selling and interested in the history, I can't tell if the NZicon army would do work like this, or if this is all the work of a civilian gunsmith and the story about it coming from the army has a few unrevealed kinks and curves to it. All comments welcome.

And somewhere here I promise to stay off the forum for a while, I see my darn name everywhere, it looks like I live here or something..lol, ok, I do.
