    Underwood revisited

I finally finished the restoration of my Bavaria Forrestry Police Underwood. It was a CMPicon rifle which had a surprising number of correct parts. I needed a stock, flip sight and safety to complete the restoration. This particular rifle also saw service with the Tyrol Austrian police force during it's tour of duty. The bore measures one on the muzzle gauge and is an excellent shooter. (PI found the stock for me!) Regards, Rick.

Nice job! I also have a Bavaria Forestry Police Underwood and, despite its well-used appearance, it is an excellent shooter. I shot it last weekend in a CMPicon-style M1icon Carbine match and got 2nd place. I shot a higher score with that light and handy M1 than I have all year with my AR-15 in NRA High Power.

Now I'm thinking that having this M1 might be nice, but having two would be better. From what I've read, the Underwood barrels were very highly regarded, so I may get another Underwood instead of an IBM, Inland, etc.

I'm trying to acquire one of each. I'm still looking for a IBM, Rockola, Standard Products and a Saginaw. I'm also looking for a Union Switch and signal for my 1911 collection. Seems like they are all very expensive these days! congrats on your shooting and now you can go for the gold. Regards, Rick.
