Ordering from J&G Sales
Anyone here ever ordered a firearm from J&G Sales? Is it just me or are they a bunch of d%$#heads to deal with?
Spent nearly half an hour trying to create an account online with no luck. Kept getting the same error message saying I hadn't entered the CC number or cvv code correctly. After trying several times I called them up to see what the problem was.
A woman answered and I could tell right off by the tone of her voice this wasn't gonne be a pleasant experience. Told her about the problem I had online and listened to her lecture on about people not following instructions when creating an account and how to correctly enter the card numbers. Told her thats exactly how I did it and she mumbles something I didn't understand and somewhat reluctantly asks if I wished to make the purchase over the phone. So I gave her my information and she got all that down ok then asks for the FFL's address. Gave that to her only to be told it wasn't in the system and got another lecture to the effect a copy of the FFL MUST be in the system BEFORE placing an order. I don't buy guns from dealers this way very often but this is the first time I've run into this policy. Everywhere else I dealt with you can submit the FFL copy with the order. So, I told her I was aware of that and the license holder attempted to fax it yesterday only to get a busy signal every time he tried. He then scanned a copy but got an error message something to the effect that the box couldn't be opened so he finally took a photo of it and e-mailed a copy and appearantly that it went through that time. I asked her if they'd even checked their e-mails lately and she says that's a different department and in takes up to 48 hours to check out the FFL to be sure it isn't fraudulent. Well, I never read anything to that effect in the gun buying instructions. Finally I'd had enough and told her to just forget the whole thing, Ive never had to put up with so much hoop jumping BS to buy a gun in the past and I wasn't about to start now. They weren't the only place selling the kind of firearm I was trying to buy so they could just stuff theirs.. I usually don't do business with dealers that require a DL copy to buy ammo in the first place. Perhaps I over reacted but that's the way it is. Well, that's my rant for the day.

Good old modern technology!! I am finding that as everyone goes internet that they are doing away with customer service. It seems that they have enough confidence in computers that they do not need the human factor. The worst one I've encountered is Microsoft. I tried to set up my daughters computer with Windows Live mail. You have to set up a Microsoft acc., no luck. Took me over an hr. to get hold of a human. She said I have to do it thru the computer. Told her It was not working, what was I doing wrong. Sorry I can't help you, you have to do it on line!!! Still no e-mail.

While we are all in the mood to share the pain. AT&T has the worst customer service on the planet. The folks seem ok but getting thru to the correct department is a real unicorn hunt.

Longing for simpler times. When designed obsolesence was not the goal of every manufacturer (which is why we have this hobby) and the term "customer service" actually ment somthing. When profit was a componet of a companies motivation but not the only componet.
