    No.32 mk3 Scope markings(help)

    Hi guys
I have a 1944 No.4 T but unfortunately it has not got a matching scope number.
The Number on the rifle is 18418 the number of the scope is 18631(just in case anyone has this scope let me know please) This is not the reason for this thread, The rifle and scope are well matched and shoot very well even in my hands, what’s bugging me is the unusual markings that I hope you can see in the attached pic. I think it is Hebrew and possibly a sight lent/sold to Israel?

    |If anyone could translate it I would be grateful although I have a feeling it will be a number it is still a very interesting part of this weapons history.

You might consider listing your needs here to keep the numbers where they're perused for just such a purpose.

I don't think that the Israelis would appreciate you thinking that arabic witing was Hebrew! A bit like saying that Israel was a Mecca for tourists.....

Most of the post war Arab states with an alliegance to the UKicon were equipped with our weaponry. We have encountered hundreds of Mk2 and 5 Sten guns and Enfield pistols in Iraq. I've brought some back.

I don't think I have much chance of a job as the new foreign affairs minester.I'm afraid my Knowledge of Hebrew/Arabic is non exsistant and it was just a guess but just incase anyone has taken offence I apologise unreservedly ,Iam but an Ignorant Norfolk Bumpkin and apreciate any help given in my education.

Thank you Peter I tend to think of Iraq and Affgan with Russianicon equipment, were the stens/pistols wourld war two vintage or later?

going slightly off subject , I have your book on the No.4 T ,essential reading for us new boys, very glad you have taken the time to write a life times experiance down for us.
