    German ZF4 scope

    I have a nice Germanicon GW ZF4 scope sitting around that I will likely never use. I figure I might as well sell it to someone who needs it to help fund some future projects, but I dont really know what to ask for it.

    It is in really good shape with no dents or dings. The bluing is nice except for a little worn area where the mounts were and where the caps go on and off. The glass is clear and not scratched. It has the end caps that are in good shape but, unfortunately, I dont have the mount for it.

    So, what would be a fair price that I could ask to someone who is restoring a G43?

    Thanks in advance.

    Uphill battle getting any sort of realistic price because there are some good repops out there. I mean VERY good...... You will probably have to offer a written guarantee that it is EXACTLY what you have described it to be

    Thanks for the response.

    A full blown "written guarantee" seems like a little much to me, but of course if someone buys it and isnt happy or thinks its a repro I would definitely buy it back, no problem. I am no expert on these and the only opinion I have on it being authentic is from the great people here;

    Besides, if I were out to screw someone a written guarantee would be about as worthless as the paper its written on. I just want to get the scope to someone who can use it and am ultimately leaving the decision about authenticity up to the buyer looking at the pictures who probably has way more knowledge about these scopes than me as I am not an authority. I do know that pictures arent always a perfect representation of a product and want to keep it honest and will make the deal right for both of us.

    I would, of course, prefer someone looking at it in person before buying but I know its not likely someone in Sacramento will be looking at the same time I am selling.
