Decent price. Most likely has a good barrel. These have been arsenal rebuilt in Yugoslavia in past 5-10 years. Called "forced matched".

Mitchell's Mausers are humped crap. that is WAY over priced for what is a glammed up Russian Capture. The price should be more along the lines of $250 - $300. Mitchell's re-blues, re-stocks, grinds off the original numbers and re-stamps the parts with the rifle's original serial number found on the reciever. then they sell them at a premium. DO NOT BUY A MITCHELL'S MAUSER.

Yes, it'd probably make a good shooter but that's it. there is no collector's value in a rifle like that and they should be ashamed that they mess with relics and pass them off as something which they are not, I. E. "all matching". it's not all matching and hasn't been since the Russians took it apart in the 1950's. The bayonet is Yugoslavian and the ammo pouch is as well.

Mitchell's Mauser's is a well known scam among collectors. It's very sad they do such great business by selling to the uninformed, and almost unbelievable in this day and age of litigation's they have gotten by with their fraudulent sales ads in reputable magazines for the past several years.

Among collectors, their ads are very much like the ads we saw in the back of comic books when we were kids -
"X-ray Glasses" to see through girl's clothes, "Sand being kicked in the skinny guy's face" and that "6' Submarine" for $2.99.

They are marketing their rifles to people who don't know any better.

They don't have any more collector value nor monetary appreciation than an 'Airsoft' version of a K98.

Do a Google search for 'Mitchell Mauser' and read for a while. There will be some supporters, but they are from people who don't know any better.

I would not purchase any gun from Mitchel's mausers. They force match the parts and they take away all the desirable features of the great mauser k98. If you really want a k98(with all the history still attached), I would check gun shops or if you have to, a place like gunbroker.com. I am just trying to help you from getting scammed. I have heard many bad reviews on Mitchel's mausers. I went to a gunshop and bought an ax 41 k98 for $300 and it is in awesome shape. The rifle also shoots great. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helped

Kar98k speaks with straight tongue; Mitchell's the Hump guns. What do you get when you take a gun, that if left untouched might be worth something to a collector, and then completely rebuild it, including taking the metal to the white, polished, blued, restamped with fantasy island markings, and then passed off as "original, arsenal refinished, like new, guns. The arsenal refinish, while technically correct isn't because Mitchell's wishes you to believe these were rebuilt at the end of WWII, preserved, and then stored, waiting just for your hard earned money.

There are a fleet full of merchant ships out there with genuine WWII German mausers - the only thing wrong with those are the BATFE rules that require the importer's marking on the receiver/or barrel....

You should see what they (mitchell's) do to Lugers, P38s, and Nambus.
