No5 and Savage No4 Mk1* Finish
I am currently rebuilding a No5 and Savage No4 Mk1* from sportized jobs. From the my search results I seem to be finding conflicting information on their finishes. Parkerized and painted, painted and just blued for the No5. For the Savage I seem to come up with parkerized.
Second question. How did they prep the metal for parkerizing as the savage finish appears to be done by blasting while the No5 finishes appear more of a fine emery cloth. Also are they a full park from receiver to muzzle.
Thanks
Myles

BSA and ROF Fazakerley No.5Mk.1 rifles were phosphated, (Parkerized), and painted/baked with Suncorite 259.
Savage No.4Mk.1 and Mk.1* rifles were finished in Dulite blue. The receivers were sandblasted giving a Parkerized look.

Thanks Brian that answers my questions, especially the Savage.
