M1 Garand Stock Cartouche
I have a Springfield Armory M1 Garand, Serial # 1854946, Manufactured July 1943. I have been told that there were four different stocks manufactured with the SA/EMcF cartouche.
1. EMcF with beveled clip latch large ord wheel,
2. EMcF with beveled clip latch with small ord wheel,
3. EMcF with straight cut clip latch with small ord wheel,
4. EMcF with straight cut clip latch with small ord with and smaller ord wheel on bottom on grip.
Can anyone tell me which EmcF cartouche went with my M1 Garand?? I would also like to see images of each and what year or serial number the four different cartouche went with???

The stamps are not the differences which there were two and the differences are so minor 99.9% of the people will never see it. The taper clip latch , inspection markings and crossed cannons on the bottom of the grip were the changes. Rick

I would think the tapered clip latch would be a very early stock for EMcF.
