    Need Info on SA Clips

I have a bunch of clips made by the Springfield Arsenal but marked differently. When did SA make clips and what are they worth? THANKS

Yes, SA marked clips in a variety of ways: small & large letters and dashes below, above & both below & above the SA plus no dashes at all. Two good websites are: http://members.bellatlantic.net/~wol...ips/clips.html and Enbloc Stampings

    SA clips

My friend in NJ, Charles Redfield, told me there are 14 variations (to date) of the SA stamped clips. Photo shows an SA clip before the SA stamp was usedAttachment 24029

    Winchester clips

Look for the early Winchester clips with the notches cut through and the early web pattern - they sell for $30 to $75 each - depending on condition and how bad you need one !Attachment 24030

Now, I'm sure I don't have one of those. I would have noticed because I've had the same hundred or so for 30 years. The last ones I got were a mixture of all the most recent return manufacturers. (Seen in passing, me looking at clips) Mostly Borg-Warner several SA and lots of Dominion Arsenal, one of which I know I picked up off the 13th Div prarie in Ft Lewis WA. Refinished, it still rings. I remember doing battle drills there and the ground was covered in clips. As far as the eye could see. 1975?..76? Everything from near new to completely rotten. The rest of mine, a bit of everything.
