Nam pilots survival mini knuckle machete
I have in my M1956/67 milsurp collection a small machete/axe That came from a Nam era pilots survival gear (Like my Camillus Knife) but it has the leather handle like a KBAR and it has knuckle protector like a sword, It is around a foot long with brush type hook at end and it's black (Frank Warren Inc. Survival Axe type IV ML-S-8642C) and the cover is canvas also Frank Warren inc. and looks like USGI M1956 style but has date 1967. Are these rare and is it M1956 or M1967 equipment ??

I do not know about how rare they are but if I remember right, they were part of the pilot's survival gear. They may have been stored in a survival pack under the seat. It has been awhile!!

Sounds like a model LC-14-B Woodman's Pal. They have been a military issue since 1941 through Desert Storm. I've got one from 1943, does it look like this?......
