Bad Conduct Discharge
Can a person with a BCD still buy a firearm? There is one section on the form asking if you had a honorable discharge.

Generally, no. At least that's how it used to be. Not current on the subject!

Answer "Yes" to any of the questions and No you are not eligible. Should be noted the question asked is "Have you ever been Dishonorably discharged"

I didn't think a BCD was a dishonourable discharge, granted about one step above it.

If the buyer where to answer "No" to the DD question he is not lying as his discharge is a BCD. At worst he gets turned down and is out the money for the NICS. If the sale is private it's up to the seller to determine the worthiness of the buyer with a BCD.

Bcd
I know this one idiot that got booted out of Marine Corp basic with supposedly a BCD. He buys firearms right and left. I gather that is not the same as a dishonorable discharge.
You must really have to mess up to get a DD?

If he was booted from boot camp it might be an "Entry-level separation." Just means he didn't fit in the military.
The question on the 4473 is, "Have you been discharged from the armed forces under dishonorable conditions?"
Bad Conduct Discharge (BCD)
The Bad Conduct Discharge is only passed on to enlisted military members and is given by a court-martial due to punishment for bad conduct. A Bad Conduct discharge is often preceded by time in military prison. Virtually all veteran’s benefits are forfeited if discharged due to Bad Conduct.
Sounds like dishonorable conditions to me.

Mr. Armed Robber & deferred adjudication
Here's one for you. Can a guy who took deferred adjudication and did 4 years probation for armed robbery fill out the 4473 and get ok'd by NICS?
