    1917 Remington

Iam looking at a P17 Remington with a Serial # of 85***. He says it is original. Has a 8-18 barrel. Seems late for a #85***. Anyone think that's to late?

8-18 seams too late to me. The table in Ferris' book shows serial # 82695 with a date of 1-18. My own rifle serial # 343955 has a date of 5-18.

Most likely original bbl replaced w/ a later bbl. I just bought a refurb one with a Sept 1918 action with a later replaced 11-18 bbl , Ray
