A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I don't know who said it but I was told somewhere along the line that all G.Is were trained right-handed. It has been marvelous to have that proved wrong.

Fascinating, I too had heard/read that lefties were basically just told, "You shoot right."

It was in a dicussion we had just a short time ago. I had said that teaching a man to shoot other hand to was as easy as writing other hand to. Apparently the SA 80 has to shoot right only and someone said the M1s were right only. I've already seen pics to the contrary.

The Garandicon has worked great as a leftie for me:

My first eight shots, squinted off through trifocals...

We had a few leftys in the CDN army too. They just had to learn to do the drills on the FN the hard way. Then shoot left.
