    P14 stock

I recently acquired my first P14 and I have a question. The rifle is dated 1917 and Weedon proofed so I'm sure it's seen time in WWII. It was common that the stocks were changed. Under the barrel of my rifle is a G... not an E, W, or R. Why?

I'm not really up on the #3 side of things like I would like, but it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to see the Brits having replacement stocks made right there in bad ol yurup for their rifles.
    Just my guess
