Winchester 540 Powder Question?????
I aquired some reloading stuff, and have a 1lb can that is handwritten in marker Winchester 540. The can was originally 4895. Have you guys ever heard of this???
I can't find it anywhere in the books.
Thanks TerryR

540 was a moderately slow shotshell powder useful for medium loads in 12 gauge and normal 20 and 28 gauge loads. Like most shotgun powders, it was usable in handguns as well.
Never trust a handwritten label unless you remember writing it yourself!

Handwritten label???
Sprinkle it on your lawn . . . (It's a great, EXPENSIVE fertilizer)!!
Not worth the risk to use in reloading ANYTHING! --Jim

Thanks guys, I have no info for it to reload pistols so I'm going to trash it.. Not worth the possible havoc if mislabled!
