Didn't miss the trap but I did forget the name of prototype model of the M14

There were 2 prototypes one was the T-44 and the other was the T-47 I believe also one had a m-14 type action and the other a BAR type action.

Description: U.S. RIFLE T44E4 7.62MM SN# 1541
Manufactured by Springfield Armory, Springfield, Ma. - Lightweight, gas-operated, magazine fed shoulder weapon, designed primarily for semi-auto fire. Select switch. Improved bolt catch and magazine. Adopted as M14 in May, 1957. Weapon complete with 20-round detachable box magazine.
Markings:
Receiver: RIFLE/CAL.30 T44E4/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY 1541.
Bolt: 7267003-SA/A15.
Barrel: P. 3-55.
Stock: P in circle.
Weapon transferred to the Museum on 2 August 1963. At that time weapon was appraised at $180.63.
