RCS.. I have metric FN FAL mag that looks just like your blue one on the left in the first photo. My mag has a mark on the rear consisting of an oblong with a mark inside. My old eyes are unable to make it out. Metric mags have the small stamped out protrusion to engage the receiver on the front, inch mags have a wider heavy lip to retain the front of the mag. At least seven countries made FN-FAL mags.

I have a Fn-Fal in inch pattern. The mags I bought years ago are metric. My question is: Can one open up the lips of a metrics mag so it locks up better. Thanks

They lock at the back spine. Take a minor pass with a file in the notch you see and the mag will seat better. Lips have naught to do with it.

I think it's just a mass produced metric mag. Military contract of some description...it has the tiny front flashing.
I can see a marking but don't recognize...

The Metric magazine is a FN Made magazine, could you show a photo of the bottom plate.
That's a lovely HRA magazine, you don't see them very often.

As in, it's a T48 mag?

Generally the "beak" on metric doesn't seem to be required.
I've seen/had a number of metric mags which the "beak" could not serve any purpose, but they locked in and function.
