early USMC/USN shovel covers
Both of theses covers are marked from a US Navy ship, I believe
these covers date to the WW1 time period. I am told that the
off-sett hanger is USMC style. These are difficult to locate.Attachment 63606Attachment 63607Attachment 63608

I'm always amazed at how much of this collector stuff was simply called "surplus" when I was a kid. Want a camp shovel? Go to the army surplus store and get a folding shovel and case for $2! It's that simple. Not anymore...
