CMP "Sales Event" at the GCA Convention.

After reading my recent issue of the GCAicon I saw the itinerary for the GCA Convention. I plan on going and buying a M1icon but I am wondering what a CMPicon "Sales Event" is. Will these be auctions of very rare and high priced M1's or will the event be something that normal, not rich, people like me could buy an M1? Any info would be helpful. Also, I lived in Cody for 8 years and could probably answer some questions on things to do places to go. Thanks to all at Milsurps. Scott S.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. CMP/GCA event

At past conventions CMPicon offered a nice selection of stuff priced fairly for everyone.

ThankYou Bob, I have never been to a GCAicon Convention and did not know what a Sales Event was.

From what I have seen in the past, and I assume this "event" will not be different, the CMPicon brings a bunch of stuff to sell: Rifles of course--usually all grades available at the stores; ammo--whatever they have; new production parts--like barrels, etc; and sometimes t-shirts, etc.

At the Phoenix convention, they brought a bunch of USAF Match Rifles--first time offered for sale. I passed, but they were selling like hot cakes.

Orest has already stated there will be very little.

"either way - but there will not be much for sale at Cody. With the way orders are coming in daily we may have little to bring. if you want a rifle - mail in the order now. "

What are the dates for the convention in Cody? They are not mentioned in the CMPicon link, just says Sept. 2013. Thanks.
