Do these kit's have parts interchangeable with the originals?

I have asked A-sq-10 to find out more Brian. I'm sure he'll come back. But at US$470 including a mag - more mags at extra cost - it sounds like a GOOD deal to me
Keep us all informed please A-sq

Just thinking about the question Brian and Asq10, it'd be a safe bet that the new kits are based on the old original H&K design if only on the basis that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
There is an option for different barrel lengths. However, on the subject of barrel inserts, the manufacturer says that the FN-FAL barrel insert spec differs from the L1A1 barrel insert. Why is a bit of a mystery to me because the two barrels are identical according to the H&K drawing numbers. Only the magazines differ
On the subject of magazines, I wouldn't mind betting that the new ones are much simpler construction. If I was doing it, the ,22" magazine would be jigged into position and permanently fixed in with a resin compound. That way you could reasonably use any (?) currently available 20 round magazine.
The new manufacturer certainly knows his onions and has done his homework and maths/economics because he's willing to lower the price pro-rata if you supply your own mag case. Can't say fairer than that can you as it's a good way to dispose or use up any mags you have with damaged feed lips. I read/understand that he'll also sell separate mags, presumably for your needy L1A1/FN-FAL kits so on that basis I expect that the new kits are based on the original kits
Keep us informed A sq 10

OK , the latest is they reached the commitment level now trying to get the orders placed , not limited to those that initially expressed interest so if you wish , jump in ,
here is the latest communique -
Okay, Gents. Here is the order form. Just click on it to open it and print it out.

For a special-order barrel length, use the "stick" method. With an UNLOADED rifle with a closed action and firing pin removed, insert a dowel or rod until it touches the bolt face, make a mark on the rod right where the crown ends (NOT where the flash hider ends), pull it out and measure the overall length. It is better to have a slightly under-length barrel than slightly over. The .22 barrel liner will be precisely cut to the length you specify so be careful here.
Don't send any magazines in for conversion yet. When all the kits have been paid for, I'll let you all know it's time to send them in.
Here's the game plan for payment. So you don't expose your hard-earned Sheckels to any undue risk and for my sanity, I really, REALLY prefer payment by US Postal Service Money Order. As I stated earlier, production will not begin until all the funding has come in. What this means is your payment will sit safe and sound until all the payments are in and I can start to make chips. If, God forbid, so many people bail on their commitment that the project has to be canceled, I will be able to quickly refund your payment to you. You will only be out postage and a money order fee. Please post any concerns you may have or PM me. Thanks all!
