    Honor Flight Match

Our local rifle club had another Honor Flight Match Saturday to raise money for the Honor Flight Foundation. Last year we raised enough money to send five WWII Veterans to DC to see the memorial and this year we raised a little more than last year. The match consisted of two man teams, drawn at random. We had 48 shooters and quite a few of the old Veterans watching. Each team member shot half a steel sillouette match which was 20 shots for a total of 40 shots per team. The match was shot offhand with iron sights at 50, 100, 150 and 200 meters at the chickens, pigs, turkeys, and rams. The rules were you could shoot any rifle you wanted, military or not. We also had a calcutta with the winning team taking it all. There was a draw for an M1 Garand which included everyone that bought a $20 score card whether they shot or not. My partner and I won the overall with a score of 29 out of 40 and cashed in for $750(which we promply threw back into the fund). A grand time was had by all and we will do it again next year allthough the Honor flight is officially over, but we will still raise what money we can for one of the Veterans organizations. Here is a couple of photos from the match.

Here is me at the firing line(the fellow next to me with the Krag had the best individual score with 19 out of 20)

Here is my weaponry for the match(the M1Aicon is missing because I'm at the line shooting)
