Possible project for an early upper
Sometime in the early 1980's I received this barrel as a gift from a good friend, he said he had found this barrel in the early 1960's. It is chambered for the 5.56mm and has a twist of 1:14 and is six groove. Also found a steel gas tube and early flat front sight base. Any opinions concerning the barrel ?Attachment 23970Attachment 23969Attachment 23968Attachment 23971

It seems you already have something in mind...

Could have been for a 220 Swift or .22 Hornet or whatever else before it was chambered. If you want to make an AR barrel out of it, then have at it!

You can well shoot it as an AR barrel but for best performance just keep the bullet weight low. Like 45gr or 52 gr. Lighter is better.
