I received another FN Mauser Model 24/30 .22 Cal training rifle yesterday.
It was manufactured in 1952 for the Navy and is finished in a gray-green color.
I have the Army model which has a black finish and is the most common model I have come across.
From what I have read there are fewer Naval models, and I was fortunate to find one.
The receivers are marked with a crown, below that is a large B, over ABL, and 1952.
A few years ago I found a complete set of wood with metal for an Army model. The serial number of each gun is marked on the stock below the number on the receiver. Somewhere out there is a 24/30 stripped of its wood. Probably a Bubba job by some Poor Dumb SOB that doesn't realize how rare they are.
