    Armourers' guages.

Can anybody direct me to a reference for identifying Britishicon Armourers' gauges by their designation?

Do the designations SM418 or SM417/27 mean anything to anyone?

Apex has what are perhaps Lee Enfield bolt gauges?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Simon: I have the master list of gauges from the Portative up to and including the Bren.
Let me dig it out later tonight and I will check it for you.
You are probably having the same nice day today we are because as the crow flies you are only about 150 miles away.
Anyone who has Britishicon gauges and needs an ID let me know.
    cheers,

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

No - I posted this some time ago and it was 'knocked back' after some discussion and discounted as not relevant.

Example : for the No4 and No5 Bolt heads (the column numbers are ever increasing level of Authority from 'front line armourer to REME Central Inspectorate)

For info - the abbreviations are :
