No4 Mk2 Faz in 7.62 Canadian DCRA, Regulated by Fulton's

Hello all,
Just picked this rifle up and it has a few interesting thinks going on with it...

1. It is a 1955 Fazakerly Mo4 Mk2 with the cool serial number of UF.55 A34567.
2. It is a DCRA modded rifle in 7.62 with the additional serial of 1101 and has the maple leaf markings on the receiver and bolt.
3. At one time, it was at Fulton's of Bisley because it is stamped 'Regulated by Fulton".
4. It has the sling swivel installed forward of the mag and is reported to be bedded by the seller (I don't have it in my possession yet to see what has been done).
5. It has a Sterling magazine with it.

I am very curious to hear what you all think about it, but I have questions too...

1. Does anyone track these DCRA rifles?
2. It doesn't have a target sight on it. Was there a specific DCRA class that this rifle was put together for as it stands?
3. I saw an old thread talking about Faz rifle serial numbers and it said Stratton had a list up to, you guessed it UF.55 A34567. How close to the end of production is this rifle?
4. When a rifle was "Regulated", my limited understanding it was at least a bedding job and I'm sure whatever the customer specified. What information can I get in regards to this from you all?
5. What were the common types of slings that were being used during these DCRA events?

Is the rifle stamped DCRA?
None of your pictures show such a stamp; the Regulated by Fultons stamp would indicate any conversion to 7.62mm might well have been done by them in the UK.

Regarding a target sight, either a P-H 5c or my favoured sight would be an AJP 4/47 in 1/4 MoA.
Regardless of the origins you have a very rifle there!

I forgot your sling query; a 2" wide target sling would have been allowed either fitted single point or attached to the rifle in two places.
These two places could be the upper swivel & butt or (more likely) the upper swivel and forward of the magazine.

It is stamped with the “crow foot” or Maple Leaf stamp over "P" on the receiver and bolt along with “1101”. It is not listed on the Canadiangunnutz.com DCRA list. I haven’t received it yet so I don’t know if it is actually stamped “DCRA” or if they were or not.


This is my first accurised target rifle and I am out of my usual area of experience. That’s why I ask the really knowledgeable people on this site! It really jumped out at me when I saw it for the above reasons and more, which is why I bought it.

They were never stamped DCRA.They had a stylized maple leaf stamp along with the conversion # stamped on top of bolt, the receiver and the barrel.Less than 2000 were officially converted.
You can see the maple leaf and the 1101 conversion number on top of bolt handle.
Yours is a 100% genuine DCRA 7.26 conversion.

They are not stamped DCRA. The 1101 on the receiver, bolt, and barrel indicate it was converted at Canadian Arsenals. Accurizing the rifle would have fallen on the owner, or in this case, possibly Fulton's, although it's possible that that may have been done before the conversion. I have a couple of the conversion tags from when they went to Cdn Arsenals. The tags indicate that the conversion was for the DCRA.
