    Winchester P17dot in serial?

    I HAVE P17 Winchester, barrel date 4-18, with a punch mark preceding the serial 2463**. Any ideas, defective, parade, hardness test ???? Thanks

    I know this from testing the hardness .. so probably something during production. This can also be found with M1903 rifles.
