    L42a1

Well, someone reached out to me and said "make me an offer on this L42A1". I have no idea on how to value. Thank you in advance for your advice!

    - Scope tin has been painted
    - been re-staked at least 3 times
    - says optics are clear and bore is good
    - waiting on clearer image of scope

    Thanks Doug.

This information is why I find this the most useful site.

I guess I can limit the query as follows.

How concerned should one be with the scope pads having been re-staked multiple times? How does this affect value if at all?

How complete is the L42? Is it in Canadaicon? Could PM Simon to see if it's on the list. Ron

1943 BSA with serial number AB0963.

    Properly marked "19T" on bolt.

    Barrel has proper proof stamps.

    Stock has been clearly replaced.

Comes with Transit case and a Scope Tin that has been painted black.

Have requested better pictures of the scope.

From what I gather by looking at completed auctions they're going from 5500 to 8600 USD, depending how many items of the CES are with it.
I wouldn't worry about the pads being re-staked and unless the pads are loose I don't think it will affect value any. Front pads are known to come loose now and again.
