I just love the way it says Britain Royal Army, I don't think we've had a Royal Army since the English civil war, and if they had goten hold of some Brens the outcome may have been a whole lot different!!!

IF, that's a 'Copy' of a Bren mount for a Jeep. (I Doubt it VERY Much!) it looks like a 'Royal' Pile of junk to me!.........

The modern British Army is based upon Cromwells "New Model Army".
My father who is now 90. Is ex RASC in the North African Desert. He says the SAS Jeeps did not and could not carry enough supplies for the long distance raids. The SAS and Long Range Desert Group, begged, borrowed, stole and captured lorries. Lugged the kit to the raids and then the jeeps were loaded with ammo, petrol and water. Each jeep and lorry was armed differently. Some even had captured Italian AA machine guns. You could argue for ever what was official issue on an SAS jeep. Trouble is unscrupulus sellers will label any thing ex SAS in order to put the price up. In the real world, very very few soldiers were good enough to be in the SAS. Thus there will not be very much genuine kit for sale.

SAS jeeps are like REME Centurion recovery vehicles. There's the basic bit of kit which the regular/permanent crew, headed by the 'reccy-mech' (recovery mechanic Sergeant) add whatever they need to make life a) easier and b) more comfortable, such as a Bedford lorry frame and canopy over the engine decks, extra water boiler, axes for chocking blocks and firewood............ you get my drift

Nonetheless, it is a curious thing that the appellation "Royal" has never been applied to the Army. Can we blame the Roundheads?

Sounds like that would be the very well thought of Breda 20mm. I remember reading the Ities had a very well thought out cross-country vehicle somewhat like a 4x4 Kubelwagen with large wheels and outboard fuel storage between the wheel wells.
