canada tool & specialty Co sight and base

picked up a canada tool & specialty sight with base.

    What do I have exactly?
it does not resemble anything I can find on the web.
with the base not fixed to the barrel you would not expect any accuracy.

Base affixes to the stock through the strengthening cross screw hole. The sight was not too bad at all, and if you want to sell it let me know.

You have a very desirable target rear sight for a 1905 Ross Mark II** Target Rifle. The base and sight was made by Canadaicon tool and Specialty Company, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. The flats on the large washers are for a wrench, and the washers are eccentric, with the hole in them bored slightly off center. The bolt was put through the rifle stock and tightened snug. Then, by turning the washers, it was possible to pull the sight base down firmly against the top of the receiver. The bolt was tightened firmly to hold the base in place.

Stick it on eBay and buy yourself an old BSA sight for the Lee.

With the spare aperture wired on it probably belonged to an old rifleman.

Just for fun, where did you find it?
