    Yep, it's a No.4, other than that you pics are'nt really helpful, a square side on shot of the receiver markings, markings on wrist, barrel just for starters, and does the bolt serial No. match the rifle?

    It appears that your lower barrel band has a hole in it. Is this so?
    Those Indian No4s that were intended to launch grenades had holes drilled through both sides of their lower barrel bands, to which Indian grenade launching sights were affixed. The forestock on these rifles have dimples, in the same plain as the band's holes, in them from the sights. Your furniture doesn't appear to have the dimples.
    Dont see much for markings on the receiver.

    Way off track but has anyone got a picture or description of this Indian sight that fits onto the lower band? Anti tank/vehicle grenade or personell?
