    Another Ebray Scam Item?

M1 A1 Carbine Paratrooper Folding Stock ALL ORIGINAL - eBay (item 130360468794 end time Jan-26-10 20:28:10 PST)

Now this may well be truly a M1A1icon stock set, but the description tends to make me think this dude's a huge scammer based on this:

All original stock. This was my Dad's and he had it when I was born in 1943.
But, in the answers to questions asked by prospective buyers:

Q: Has this stock been through the Arsenal for rebuild?
A: Thanks for looking. I am assuming it has since it has the Rock Island Arsenal stamp on it but, there are no repairs anywhere on this stock.

Q: Hello, is this stock a low wood? is there an M2 cut-out modification inside? Thanks, Brian
A: Thanks! Yes, it is a low wood and it does have the M2 cutout. For some reason, Ebay would not let me leave that M2 info in the description because they said it described an "assult weapon" so, I had to keep editing.
If it was in Dad's closet in 1943 when this guy was born, why would it have an M-2 selector cutout? Why would it have been through a Rock River Armory rebuild if it was sitting unused in the closet in 1943?

I wounder if he ment 1953. It looks like a real stock and could have been in a closet since 1953, that could be why the rebuild stamp and modification. If so I don't thik he needed to embellish the story to sell it. All of the M1A1icon's seem to bring good $$$$ just my TCW.....Frank

i contacted him about 6 hours after he listed it. i told him about his discription flaws, and he asked if he should revise it. i told him not to bother, people who know what they are looking at will bid on it anyway, i also told him he will get bids in excess of 1k,because thats what they seem to be going for

M2 cut? That is not a factory cut! It looks to be someones handy work, but not as bad as some.Mine was way worse than that, but I only paid $800 with gun a yr ago. I would guess to say that it could have been around as long as seller can remember.JMO.

Being too helpful can hurt those who are hunting such items. The result being higher asking prices and reserves.

The want to do good in us can come back to hurt us at times. A catch 22 scenario

    Respectfully,
    Charlie
