? Difference between WWI and WWII 1911 holster - how to ID ?
I have a 1911 holster with a date that so far is unreadable. The manufacturer stamp is Clinton and the inspector initials are C.S. The date looks like it might be 1918, but the last number could be a 3,6 or 9 as only the bottom quarter is showing. Is there a way to identify when it was made from the details (cut, stitching, US mark, etc.)? Thanks for any assistance.

WOW! What great information. Is there a reference book with that information. I have the Collectors Guide by Charles W. Clawson, however it doesn't cover leather goods. Thank you.
