True that. It's the same as people driving that shouldn't, or handling power tools that shouldn't. It's just that guns can sensationalize media. Flash sells, bingo scores don't...

Some people really don't take the rules to heart. Also, how come no one even attempts to show girls how to hold a rifle? Geezow! That all I have to say.

I've always boiled at those vids. I've had many trainees, I'm not shooting when they're learning. I'm there supervising. To see someone let one of these little dolls get hurt by some act error or omission, should have their bag slit and their leg put through it. Then they'll always have a bad first impression of range work.

Aye, the dudes are just stupid like Rambo there shooting himself in the leg "I just shot myself"..moron,,,but to setup a girl to get a giggle on the range ain't funny. Notice the last girl firing what? a desert eagle dunno,,the muzzle flips back into her face,, yeah! Real funny if she pulled the trigger inadvertently again.

There was an incident that made news a short while ago about a young boy given a fully automatic rifle, possibly an uzi. This was at a sanctioned event under supervision and the recoil simply forced it back and up and he killed himself. These things aren't funny, I cringe watching them. Last thing I want to do is have one of my girls hurt, they'd never want to do it again. They all handle guns better than my big strapping son in law does. He won't shoot anything with recoil and my daughter hunts with a 356 Winchester in the little 94 model. Kicks like a mule. My wife can handle a 45 and likes it and she has very little know how about guns or shooting. It's all in how they were taught.

You guys have pretty much said it all. I see these and think, "You men are MORONS". Teach the women in your life the proper handling of a firearm. Then maybe she can defend herself in a dire situation. But these Bozos want cheap laugh instead. Most of these guys shouldnt be handling firearms either.

Yes Darwins law in full swing but seriously the people getting a kick outa some one else's pain well that does nothing but show how low there intelligence level is, when I fired my friends 460WM with full power loads in its original stock I knew I was in for a bit of punishment, forgot to keep my yap open on the last of the five rounds I fired and yes I definitely tasted enamel from my teeth but 5 in a row was plenty.
There also is the other side I was teaching a person to shoot my 444 Marlin he knew it all and proceeded to explain to me how many hard kicking rifles he had fired a .243 Win! this is after I fired some warm up rounds, despite constant warning on eye relief I shut up and said fine off you go. BANG Oh Dear!
Result the good ol Weatherby eye and 4 stitches later and what I got was well you did not tell me it kicked that much ??????

I taught my wife to shoot a .22 rifle and my 44 Mag Ruger Super Redhawk with factory ammo it was a bit hard at first but she mastered it, in the rifles she quite happily shoots the 2 x 308's she owns and also reloads her own ammo a great boost for me less press time, with a full bore and Effie and beats the better shooters me included, I just like to hit the black somewhere not playing for sheep stations, occasionally I surprise my self and actually get a good score.
Thanks guys have a good one.

My Wife is actually indifferent when it comes to shooting and/ or gunshows. I learned that her Uncle introduced her to "shooting" (as a teen) by handing her a 12gage pump with 3in magnum shells (giggle... giggle)... Which ended up with her on the ground. He got a laugh... her a bruise and a "ech" when it comes to guns.

I am lucky that she actually likes to shoot the "black rifles" and as such, I always tell her the limit of her recoil based on that as a model.

Reversing bad training/ bad experience is tough...... especially if someone is hurt or killed.

With my Kiddos... its BB guns... and pellet rifles... eventually moving to larger....
