    Company Commander

Company Commander by Charles B. MacDonald. A gritty no-nonsense look at being a line officer late in the European theater. MacDonald's book takes you through the Ardennes offensive to the crossing of the Rhine river.
My copy is a 2006 Military book club reprint. This copy comes with a removable battle map, which is very helpful.
MacDonald has also written a book about the Ardennes Offensive : A TIME OF TRUMPETS. Both of these are outstanding books by a fella who was there.
