Seeking information on German and French machetes

Anyone have any reliable information on German or Frenchicon machetes. I see some sold on ebay which claim to be both but I can find no information anywhere to confirm that they are. IMA also had a machete they claim was issued to air crews on the eastern front. They were made in France or Germanyicon but issued?

I honestly can't think of a good reason the Germans would ever issue one in WWII but WWI they would have great use of them in Africa. The French should have them for various possessions around the world.
