Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Without more and better pics offhand I would say it's a second model M73B1 w&e plate on a commercial 330 tube with fake and incorrect markings.

Thanks Cecil - i have to modify my earlier statement. It looks like a second model M73B1 on an earlier electropenciled tube. I believe the serial number is too low for a second model. The scope may have been assembled or possibly just repaired with some used parts.

Note that some 2nd model scopes have W&E knobs with the little zeroing screw in the center of of the knob and some do not. It appears to be a change that started on the middle of that series.

    Regards,

    Jim
