Thanks Peter it just goes to show how people operate perhaps they know the truth perhaps not about the mount screws there are those that are going to be parted with their money as 2 people already have.

Helston gunsmiths did have a quantity of these same screws in stock until last year.
They are not war time (or even 1970s) manufacturer, but I believe them to be military issue spares ,

I have purchased several bits and bobs off this chap in the past, via eBay, such as wood hand-guards and oil bottles. I have found him to always be straight with me and the items which I have purchased in the past from him have been exactly as he has described them in his listings. Obviously I can only comment on the accuracy of the adverts for items which I have actually purchased off him.

F10 the Indians I hear are making fake oilers now as well they can fake things so well now days it is nearly impossible to tell from the real deal, the dealer himself may have fallen foul who knows I have also brought items from this seller just saying hoodwinking goes on at all levels.

As a side note, several years ago (ok maybe 15 or 20) there were take off thumb screws available.

They're relatively simple to make, other than markings, really what difference does it make as long as they are threaded correctly?

Actually I have exchanged (original) thumb screws between several mounts in order to have sufficient thread engagement.

The front pad thumb screw always worries me as I've found that quite often the thread only engages in the round barrel section. I believe this to be why front pads break (as illustrated in PL's book "Armourers Perspective").

Hate to disagree on "no NOS left".
These came from a HUGE box full (triwall size) so if anyone desperate needs a set PM me.
The ones on "that site" appear to be CNC made by the finish and quality of the turning and knurling or they could have been made by Ma Parker and crew, post war.
These are WW II NOS, with some minor rust included.
I should have taken 20 pounds worth when I had the chance, but had no need for more and I usually have a hard enough time explaining my baggage at the airport..
