    Gun Broker Vs E-Bay Selling

Today There are 32 pages of Carbine parts for auction on Gun Broker including rifles Only 9 pages of parts on Ebay . Why do sellers continue to support the 60s anti gun Haight & Ashbury rejects that operate ebay ? Additionally You must pay with Pay-Pals cyber money {Owned by ebay} .. Let the Pinks discover you sold a gun part and you are screwed .. Your account locked up for months . During earlier times One would have been shot for sleeping with the enemy .

As a seller on Ebay you can't ask for any other type of payment except Pay Pal. A potential buyer has to ask if he can pay you with another option like Money Order..etc.
You have to pay the Insertion Fee along with the fee for your pictures. Then if Paid thru the Pay Pal system....Pay Pal takes their cut.
Pay Pal takes their cut from your items final value...including the cost you have figured in to ship the item. That one burns my ***.
More extreme changes are coming soon.
I've sold to and met some great people there....but Ebay is quickly closing the box on any gun related items.

I no longer buy or sell through eBay because of their policies. I do not want nor will ever accept PayPal. Like many, they have lost ALL of my business due to their policies.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

I absolutely hate eBay, but you will notice a painfull difference between the listings on eBay and GunBroker. If you look at the listings on GunBroker you will see very few bids. I don't pretend to know the answer. Is it over ambitious starting bids set by the sellers or a lack of potential buyers visiting the site? If you look at eBay you will see quite a few more bids on items, which I atribute to to more potential buyers visiting the sight. Hopefully that will change and gun owners will migrate to the more gun friendly auction sites.

Mike I believe you hit the nail on the head! Everybody likes EBAY because its easy to use, like AOL. So, there is good and bad with everything and you just have to manipulate things to your favor. I think alot of people would rather use their computers(PayPal) to do all their transactions.Payments can be done quick and almost effortlessly. No standing in lines at the Post Office, going to the bank or to a convenience store to buy a money order. Gunbroker now seems like a storefront for most of the sellers, no good deals to be had.

I feel the more outlets to sell our products, the better, regardless how one feels about their politics, PayPal, etc.

I agree. EBay is high profile. Lots of people look at it and use it therefore you will get more bids on like items when compared to GB or AA. And as for PayPal, I love using it. I live far enough out of town that when I need to go to the post office, it a big deal, wastes time, costs more money and I hate dealing with the morons at the post office more the bother of PayPal's political standing. It's kind of like listening to music. I know most of the music artist are liberal whacko, tree hugging, bark kissers but I just love the old 1960s, toss me a joint and hit me with a needle music. Don't worry fellas, I like the music of the 1940s as well!

Now, shall we get back to carbines

    GB vs EBAY

You can harp about Ebay and PP all day. I have used both and have never had a problem with Ebay but have been butt forked by Gun Broker several times. I don't sell much of anything but have spent over $15k on Ebay using PayPal in the past year. That includes 6 oz of gold, 20 oz of silver, and a truck. I have yet to be screwed by them.

GB is a rip off pure and simple. They manufacture charges and then try to ruin your credit if you object. I got a bill from them out of the clear blue. I tried to ask them why and what it was for. They would not bother to answer my questions. For over a year they sent me charges that increased every month. Then I started to get calls from a collection agency. I finally paid them off just in order to avoid the hassle. The total charges started at something like $2 and wound up at around $20.

In my opinion Gun Broker is nothing but a bunch of thieves!

Note to Gun Broker: Sue me for slander you cowards.

I think with both eBay and GunBroker it's a matter of what the market can bare. If it becomes such a hassle that they run off sellers, they will eventually have to change or fail. As a buyer, I like the conveniance of both and I've been very pleased with my purchasing experiance, especially with GunBroker.

    - change it back -
