    Barrel markings......

Just got an m17 barrel that was de-stressed for removal and notice the anchors
near the rear...... anyone have an idea who's marking they would be? I have the 3 pics for your viewing pleasure, any comments are welcome!

Any value to anyone? Bore is fair to good, and needs a good shot (or several dozen) and cleaning!

    Hi,
Welcome to the club of unknown markings. The anchors may be a naval marking the same i`ve seen on a Parris-Dunn Training rifle. The Marking left of the V looks similar to the one on my M 1917. But theres is no explanation at time. If you get an explanation for this stamp please be so kindly and post it to me.

looks like markings from from a Canadaicon lease rifle.
barrel can be used as a jack handle. or tomato stake.
one of the reasons i dont cut the shoulder to remove a barrel.
as bad as it sounds. you can fix pipe wrench marks, you cant fix that big groove, and keep it military.
it would cost more then the barrels worth to fix that shoulder.

I would bet a good buck on it being the Danishicon navy, they are the same anchors that are on the sight covers of my Danish navy loaner returned Garands.

Danishicon navy. Not common at all. Why did you remove it? Not much value now.
