    What is this stuff?

Went looking to find some .22 LR to buy for the weekend. Wal-Mart had only .22 Shorts at $3.37/50 rds. They had no other .22LR of any sort. Went to K-Mart and found a new to me Winchester .22 LR round. Manufactured by Winchester, it's called Dynapoint. It is .22 LR 40 gr. HP copperplated. Comes in a 500 rd. box w/ Winchester in red ink, Dynapoint in blue ink and the other information in black ink. The box is white pasteboard.

This K-Mart had only this one box of .22 LR, with no other types in stock so I bought what they had. Is this a common loading that I just happen not to have previously encountered or is it a off beat load. Is it just standard .22 LR or is it some specialized load? Sincerely. BruceV.

Dynapoint has been around for a couple decades. It is supposed to be a high performance hollow point & is a competitor to CCI's Stinger.

Cool. I had never seen Winchester .22LR ammo so marked. Given your description, I think I'll reserve it for my little S&W M-18. Sincerely. BruceV.

    winchester 22lr hp dynapoints

I my beretta bobcat 22lr I have been using cci stingers for ccw. Today I fired 50 rounds of the winchester dynapoint 40Gr HP 22lr. They fired without a flaw. Not as much ummphf as the stingers but a great targot round and very clean shooting. My 21a is kind of picky on ammo it likes the high velocity in order to cycle properly and the dynapoints did the job.

Today we fired a hundred rounds of dynapoints through A berette 21a Bobcat and an Ruger LCR22 and they fired great. No problems in either gun. The Bobcat is pretty picky and I usually shoot cci mini mags and ccw stingers but the dynapoints worked great and fired clean didn't foul up either gun. I've fired some other brands that have fouled up the Bobcat in less than 3 mags.
We'll buy the dynapoints again if the price is below the cci ammo.

    I haven't been able to find dynapoints again, I did find winchester 555 22lr (1280fps 37gr HP)
The 555 apparently denotes the quantity in the bulk box. Same shells also sold as 333 and
    222.
They are suposed to be a little more powerfull than the dynapoints. I'll try them next time out
if they fire as good and as clean as the dynapoints I'll have my new target ammo.
My beretta 21a bobcat is really picky so that will be my test pistol for the 555 ammo.

The Winchester Dyna Points are not hyper velocity like the CCI Stingers. Velocity of the Winchester is around 1150 where the Stinger is around 1650.
