    Walmart ammo.....

Had to pop into Walmart to get some DVD-RW discs last night and out of curiosity checked out ammo supplys, every ga. and type of shotgun shell you could think of with large asst. of brands, hard ammo was a diff. story, had 22RF,25acp,32acp,.40 cal,.357mag,rest of pistol ammo was sold out(or they hadn't refilled the shelves yet),plenty of .30car.(50rd boxes),.243,30-06,270 and etc;had some new brand of .22RF that was over $25 a brick of 500 rds, labeled as some type of special target grade ammo, didn't check all prices but the .30car(50rd box) was $13.89,don't know if these are good prices or not cause I never buy factory ammo except for .22RF by Rem or Fed.,also they had a sign posted that said 6 item limit per customer so every one would have opportunity to buy, apparently they must have had a reasonable stock.

Ray- Plenty of .30car??? Is that 30 carbine ammo and how much??? I bought 3 boxes at my Wal mart a couple of years ago that had been marked down and the head of the department told me that Wal mart was going to quit carrying the 30 carbine.
If your wal mart does carry them let me know so I can get on the phone with them and get it back in my store.

Sign in local Walmart also stated only six boxes of ammo per person. Cheaper Than Dirt was selling winchester 500 round box of .22lr for 47.00 a box on their web site. It will be a cold day in hell when I ever give any of my business to those crooks. I bought the same ammo at Walmart for 12.87. a box. I took two boxes, they had about 20 boxes left on the shelf.

    Ammo and components

I don't know about the Wally World right now because I haven't been there for a couple of weeks. But I have been to the local dealers and they all have .22 LR ammo, 22 Mag is a little short but thats not uncommon this time of the year. Here at least you can buy just about all the .223, 9mm, .45ACP, .38 spl/.357 Mag. and others. So far not to many primers but pretty much any powder you want, even Varget and lots of Unique. JD even has had no less than 6 AR 15 type rifles in the last month and all less than 1,000. per unit. I looked at his brass and there was at least 2-50 round bags of new (drumm roll please) .380 brass, maybe I should buy it and a pound of Unique. Another store I frequent once a month does have primers at least once a week until they sell out. Between the stores I go to and on line shopping I can keep myself stocked up and shooting. Cabela's had Hornady .308 match brass about a month ago so I ordered 2-50 round boxes, I had sold my one 50 round box to a guy that needed some and I wasn't using it so he got it for a couple of bucks below what it was worth. I do have more than one hundred primers so Red is sure I'm hoarding LMOL at that fool. I would still suggest that if you find some things you can use and can afford to buy some extra GO AHEAD and buy it...if for nothing else just so Red cant get it LOL.

    Regards........except for Red

Our WallyWorld has no bricks of .22 rf and hasn't had for months. three boxes of .30 carbine @ $48.50 a box and a scattering of loaded rifle various calibers. Almost no handgun ammo at all.

Come on Bud, Red has a right to his opinion even if we don't agree as I have 1000 primers in each LR LP SR and 500 SP

Yep...Red has a right to "his" opinion and so do "I". Where Red crossed the line with me is when he said I would stand by and watch my grandchildren "DIE" if I had the cure to prevent it. That's unforgivable and I will not. Red is a miserable SOB and always will be.

1st. time been in Walmart in 2yrs. or so,disabled,on oxygen 24/7,my old hunting partner is also my barber, always get there at closing,on way home stopped at Walmart, park by patio section, shortest route in/out of store for me wheeling oxy. tank, can't walk more than 25/30yds. at a time before resting but I just had to get out for even a few minutes, wasn't any clerk around, couldn't ask anything about ammo,no guns/no gun racks, had BB/Air guns, there was about 10 or 11 boxes of .30 M1icon carbine, asked my wife ,she works in a Walmart couple cities over, she said they have trailers in back of the stores that they use as mini warehouses, they are cleaning everything out, probably found ammo buried in back, wife said they found 5 to 10yr.old items in her store's trailers,Walmart can't get permits for new stores in some areas so they are adding on and revamping stores around here to put in grocery sections and they are getting rid of all kinds of stuff around here, not all Walmarts are the same,or have same prices, differ in many ways.
