    Winchester M1D

Will the CMPicon look up a M1D serial number to see if it was sold through them ?
What I have is a Winchester with a 7-51 M1D barrel. M84 scope and flash hidder. It is in a Danishicon stock that is numbered to the rifle and has the data tag in the barrel channel that is also numbered to the rifle, Danish sling. The stock also has a open box SaA cartouche on it. The rest of the parts are a mix of winchester and SA.The serial number is in the #1372XXX range.
Any comments are appreciated. Thanks Derrick

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Yes,

I think they still offer this service. Not sure about the cost, I think it something like $25 or $35. I did this on a M1D that belonged to a friend and found out that it had been sold by the CMPicon as a stripped receiver, OOPS!

    Auction Info

It is probably worth the $35 to have the CMPicon check - - - but Danishicon M1D's went through their auctions - - - I searched on 1372 serial numbers and the only hit was a 1372110 which was a Mk2 Mod0 rifle - - -

    Steve

PS I have one of the Danish M1D's - beautiful rifle - picture is as received via CMP.....
