    the issue i see, is the size of the receiver ring. the type 99 and the 1917 . 14, have very large ring.
    youd be better with a K98icon.48 or VZ24 action, the threads are pretty darn close anyway,
    its been a while but, seems to me that minor work was needed to use a Remington 700 in a Mauser 98 receiver.
    check out Mike Dehas book on bolt action rifles, it will give you more info then i can give you.

    I have DeHaas' book, If things get too expensive I'll just have it threaded for a Kragicon action, which I have, and live with low end 6MM Rem loads. I got the Obermeyer barrel off gunbroker for $10 when a refuge from ebay put it up with no reserve. Broke my heart to steal it.
