Arrow Another Springfield M1D Sniper at Auction Arms

    Here's a pretty good looking Garandicon M1D....

If this old girl was on this side of the border, I'd probably try to buy her....

Auction Arms - SPRINGFIELD ARMORY - M1D -- SNIPER RIFLE....Excellent Condition (click here)

    Seller's Description:

NO RESERVE!! RELISTED DUE TO DEADBEAT BIDDER. Here's a very handsome example of the U.S. M1D Sniper rifle. Built on a WWII era Springfield receiver, this M1D has the correct type USGI barrel with the proper markings on top, under the handguard. The receiver retains what appears to be it's original finish. The trigger group, buttplate, op rod and gas cylinder have all been refinished. The barrel was likely refinished as well as the the breech face has traces of finish. There is no rust or any pitting. The stock is in very good shape and is free of any cracks or repairs. There are handling marks but overall, the stock is excellent. There is a "S.A." cartouche on the left side of the butt and a circled P proof on the forward part of the pistol grip. No other markings are visible on the stock. Comes with an M84 scope that is in excellent shape. The finish on the scope rates about 95% overall. Optics are excellent with just one little piece of debris at 10 o'clock position of the site picture. The Lenses are good and free of chips or scratches. The sun shade is present and in good working order. An original rubber eye cup is included (but not mounted on the scope). The flash hider is of the earlier M2 "bell" type and is in as new condition. Also included is an original leather cheek piece (the stock has not been drilled for the check piece). The mechanics appear to be in good working order. The bore is very good but does show some use. There is a slight amount of frost in the grooves but no pitting. The TE measures about 4.5. There are no import markings on this rifle. Sorry, no government paperwork to verify the pedigree of this rifle, but overall it is a very nice example! Buyer pays $25.00 shipping. A C&R License is acceptable for transfer.

SORRY, BUT I CANNOT END ANY AUCTION EARLY…… PLEASE DON'T ASK!

    Current Bid Price - $$2,012.00 U.S.
    Regards,

Seems like a nice example, but someone with more M1D experience than I will have to comment

A very nice item, however, I do believe the barrel/sight block combo should have a 77,XXX number stamped somewhere on it. I guess I may have missed it. It does indeed look nice-SDH
