Was at Cabela's today picking up PRIMERS (got lucky on a phone call) and they had about 10 boxes of Wolf in stock for $17.99 a box. Of course I didn't buy them because I respect my weapons too much to break an extractor (that is what the primers are for anyway!). I haven't seen any other 30 carb on the shelves around the DFW area since I bought the last two boxes at a Wally World about 3 months ago. That was Remington and it was $25.99 a box then. I almost didnt buy it but the sporting dept guy knew me and said that those two boxes were the last for a long while.

But in the last two weeks I have scored primers, 2400 and even some unfired de-miled brass on line! Got a new War Baby due to be delivered next month (?) and I plan on feeding it well when it gets here.

I wonder how much of this Carbine ammo shortage is due to horders and how much is due to the large number of USGI being sold by CMPicon. Everyone wants to shoot what they are buying....

Saw some 30 carbine at the Walmart in Troy NY - $48 a box of 50.

Didn't buy it- had just taken delivery of 1350 rds of 30 cal for about $925 shipped.

Well, Tired Retired I think most of it is probably hoarding. We don't need tea leaves to tell us what Biden, Pelosi, Obama, Holder and the rest of them have in mind for private ownership of firearms in America. The problem for me is that I have no way of knowing how much ammo I need to continue shooting at my present rate. A 4 year supply? I fear that if Obama wins a second term, we will NEVER get rid of him. In that scary event, our firearms will certainly be confiscated. Sorry to sound so grim and pray that I am wrong.

Well stores around here in Rhode Island have just about anything you want.
One shop has cases of .233, .308,7.62X39,7.62X54 and 30.06 stacked on the floor. It's not cheap but he has tons.Other stores in the area also have an decent supply.Powder and bullets are also everywhere with the exception of primers. They are around you just have to look or ask for them.

Ten or twelve years ago at auction I bought a case of Winchester .30 carbine ammo for $60.00. Sure glad I did!

Am casting bullets and reloading for the .30 Carbine for little more than .22 rimfire ammo. It's the only way to go for the Carbine, as ammo supplies are only going to get worse and more expensive.

My local Walmart in North Fort Worth Texas has gone so far as to peel off the shelf stickers that mark where the 30 Carbine ammo should go.
The mgr said that since they can't get it, they may as well free up the space. Of course, there wasn't a whole lot of stuff to fill up the new empty space......
