I have a Barrett m82a1, and a Hornady press.(50 bmg)
not new to reloading, I have a Dillon 550,650,and 1050 presses,
I am new to 50 cal.

Have just joined the group although have done some edge walking previously. I have a couple of Lee Enfields, and am learning quite a bit about the historical developments. I am interested however in one that I have at the moment and it appears to be a LE Mk1* but may be a composite. Its dated 1900 and has a stamp "Vic Gov" which may have been pre Federation in Australia. Federation of all states occured in 1901. This wpn may have seen service in Boer War as well as WW1. It certainly was used during WW2 in the local home defence [The VDC] It has had the butt replaced with a clean skin timber that doesnt match the rest of the woodwork. There are many interesting items on it that I have been looking for further imfo on and will report further on the site. I will post pics later.

I have a question about removing the remaining wood from the breech and barrel Can any one assist pse.

At the breech end where the butt is screwed on and the woodwork from the barrel is fitted there are a couple of brass pins that I believe go though the metal and are peined over into the wood work. Is that correct? To remove should an armourer do that so they can replace the pins or is it possible to do so in a reasonable workshop? Also can the brass pins be easily obtained?

I have been following the site for some time and finally had to join or not be able to view any threads of posts and replies. This started for me with the purchase of one of the SOG Kyber Pass knockoffs. The one I got was really an insult to the Kyber Pass area. I disassembled, took pictures and assemble a report for myself and for the SOG folks. Instead of going off the deep end, I contacted them, talked to a real nice lady there and got a return number. It is on the way back to them now. I then ordered an IMA Nepal short lever MH and just received the one complete and one parts gun today. I have the complete one apart and the parts gun with the action and cleaning rod out. Started cleaning and have not made much of a dent so far. Have pictures that I will post in time. Thanks all.
