New member here, ive been trying to find out more information about this Rifle i have, as far as i know it is a 1944 303 Enfield Rifle with III* and HV on the side of the butt, 8/45 stamped as well, has cleaning kit brass hole on butt, " BA " and "MA " everywhere on it, serial numbers match consistantly and has kill marks on reverse side of stock. I could give you serial numbers if you like but mabey someone could tell me more about it since you all seem to be the experts, i sure would appritiate it.....thanks,

Mabey you can help me out with a 1944 Enfield Rifle i have serial # 88445, 303 III* HV, what does HV stand for by the way? Has " MAO " SMLE 8/45 on the side of the butt.......mabey you could she some light on this for me, i bought it for $50.00

Hi everyone,

I just found this site on the net!!?? I am a gun nut and make no apologies for my likings. I have a small collection of military longarms from Custer to Korea. Trapdoors. 03's, 03a3, 1917 Enfields, Garand, M1 Carbine and now German 98K. The 98K was what led me to this site as I was looking for ejector springs and info.

hello everyone, I am retired USN and have been collecting/shooting U.S milsurps. But about ten years ago, I purchased from a neighbor a 1889 schmidt rubin without a bolt. Had no idea what the bolt looks like so I went to the great western americana gun show and was able to buy a bolt assembly. But when I took it home, it was too short and the lug seems to be in the wrong place. I came upon this forum and it seems like a lot of members know about this rifle. I was reading a post/message from a member about the pressures of the the newer ammo and it makes sense now as to what happened to the original bolt. That was a very good article...thanks. Just looking at the pictures on this forum, I think the bolt assy. I purchased from the gun show is a 1911?? It seems the bolt for the k31 is really short compared to the 89...
On another matter, my son figured out that more ammo means more shooting at the range. So he talked me into reloading. Started with handgun ammo and now with the rifles,but I cannot find 30 carbine load data.. I currently have unique, bullseye and imr4198. will any of these powder work?? thanks, ed
