Hello everyone, I kind of fell into this site by looking up an enfield that I recently picked. I am located for those of you who make the trip at the Jamboree In The Hills area. I might have met some of you when you came through the gate. I am a Mason, home Lodge is Kirkwood 446, located in Hendrysburg, Ohio which is the Birth Place of William Boyd ( Hopalong Cassidy). Greetings from a FNG in Perry County, PA.

I'm a retired Marine (1967-1992), current High School Social Studies teacher.

I have been firing pistols for a number of years (mostly .22LR, 9mm, and .45 ACP). About a year ago, I started having M14 rifle dreams. Broke down and purchased a NIB Springfield Armory M1A service rifle (named her "Susan" - like my Boot Camp rifle) and I love it. Already put out a couple thousand rounds at my local Sportmen's Association. I had forgotten how much fun it is!

I have started collecting shootable US military service rifles. I have acquired a .30-40 1898 Krag Korgensen (wonderful rifle, but ammo is hard to find and VERY expensive!), two M1 Garands, and some assorted .22s. Currently looking for a 1903 or 1903A3 Springfield. (Hesitating on the M16 look-alikes. I hated to give up my M14 for the M16 back in Vietnam.)

Later today, I'll be picking up a WWII German 8mm Mauser 98K rifle from a gun dealer in Hanover,PA. I have found some wonderful websites on the weapons I already have (The Firing Line, M14 Rifle Association, M1 Garand Collectors Association, Krag Collectors Association), so I started looking for info on the 98K and found this website.

Looks like I've found another shooter/collector home.

Hello to all. Long time owner of firearms. 12yr military service. Numerous pistols, shotguns, and rifles (including some curios). 1st firearm was a GAU-5 (M4) I bought 26yrs ago. Still have it. Still building my arsenal. Does it ever end? Shooting and buying guns is my addiction. The day I can put all my bullets in one whole at the range with every gun will be the day I quit. That's what I tell the wife anyway.....LOL

New to the M1 Garand with recent purchase. New rifle (1943) will need a lil work to make it a good shooter. Joined the site to obtain some knowledge on how to maximixe the potential of my 67 year old gun.

Stuck my head in and cruised the site forums. Like what I seen. The Army Training Video is classic nostalga. I loved it!

I am a new member, and from The UK ( East Riding of Yorkshire )
I have an interest in history and particularly the time from 1870 through to 1945
Also a collector and displayer of many artifacts and memorabilia.
My first interest in weapons was as a RCT army Cadet some years ago. I was a marksman and shot .303 No 4, 7.62 SLR, GPMG and bren.
gun. With a short time shooting for News of the world and match shooting at Bisley for the local team.
My gun collection consists of Vickers MG , No4 Le enfield, SMLE, Enfield revolver and Webley .38 revolver. Also 1.5 inch flare gun. All now deacs, Thinking of a firearms licence again to see if I can still hit the targets.
My recent purchase is a Martini Henry Francotte. To try my hand at renovating. If I find it succesfull I will look at a martini Henry-short lever- MkII.
I have been websearching and found IMA to be pretty good so they are my source at present.
I am fairly weak on woodworking skills so any tips and advice on cleaning, preparing and repairing the wooden furniture is welcome and is my main worry when trying to do a good job on that material.

I have bored you enough. Will now concentrate on finding info and research on the Nepalese symbols on the Francotte to see what they all mean.
The main Martini Henry rifles seem to be well documented and have many sources of detailed information. but not so with the Francotte, I presume the same will go for the Gahandre version but havent looked at that.
If anyone has come accross info on the Francotte please direct me, it may save me some time that I would prefer to use on renovating the rifle.

Hello all! Proud owner of M1 Garand (1945) and 1917 Enfield project. Looking for help with that. The 17 needs a new barrel and replacement for the "sportized" stock so I can shoot it in matches.

I'm new to this forum and have come into posession of my fathers gun collection after his passin. Unfortunately, many of his weapons were not identified and have no paperwork with which to trace their background. So I'm trying to identfy and determine the value of several weapons.

Ok, here is my new Member thread. I picked up this 1926 Mosin Nagant M91 finnish model Rifle. I am trying to do some research on it. Picked up some manuals already. But I'm a bit confused on what it really is.

On the left side is an SA mark. The finnish Army Property stamp.
Also it is marked with 2919 on the left.
In the finger grove on the left is marked with a 4. I can't find a finnish stock makers stamp.
It seems to me that is a solid stock. But it has been pressed together to make a full stock. ??
It has the triangle with a T in it. Under that has 2919, then a C mark, and then 1926.
So I am not sure it is a full or two piece stock. So any help would be great.
