    Morning all,

Just joined up. seems a good spot to learn!
I was directed here by a chap from another forum. Yes he may be on here as well but don't know his user name!
I was wanting information on repairing the draws on a No 4 Mk 1, and was a bit confused about all the shimming and such fixes that were being offered to me.
I was linked to Peter Laidlaw's Proper fix for this job, and was most grateful!

On that first visit, I Also learned how to actually wrap a pull-through so it would fit in the butt trap!!
Very simple, now I know How!
    Cheers ,

    Richard.

    New member.

A little in the way of introduction. my name is Jim. I'm from the great pacific northwest US. My handle, Old Army Cook, is a nod to my profession. Now retired I've been collecting and shooting military surplus weapons now for the last 2 years. I've always been interested in history and the old war dogs are a great touchstone to that history. I've signed on here as another resource to learning about the hardware. I'm looking forward to helping others as I continue to learn.

    Cheers,
    Jim

    Greetings!
I'm a new guy here, and a novice who
will be lurking in "Other Auto Pistols".
I'm just starting to learn marksmanship...
So... I bought a nice M1911 this summer, and a
tough old bird is teaching the teacher to shoot
    (I'm a college professor).
    I never served in the military, but my daughter does though;
she's an Honors Graduate of the USAF Academy,
and flies a Herc to bad places,
to pick up/drop off rough men who ...do things.

My only connection to milsurp firearms is the
M1icon carbine I inherited from Dad, and the Enfield
tanker .38 from my English veteran uncle.

I suspect I'm not the usual inhabitant of this locale...

Hi all, I am oldsergeantFc and retiredArmy (40 years) and am new to this site so just wanted to say hello and to ask a simple question. I have searched for and seen a lot of serial number requests most are vague or are one num. specific. I do not have or found the resources to verify...I am looking at an Inland M1icon Carbine with a serial number of 47802 and just curious as to when it was made. Thanks .

    hello collectors

I've been collecting Enfields for over 25 years. My interest was sparked when
I met Ian and Brian at Navy Arms Company in the 1990s where i was employed
as General Manager of Manufacturing. We had a lot of Enfields and parts and
as they went through the stuff they showed me the nuances of the breed.
My wife and I shot high power matches using No. 4 Mk2s and did pretty well.
Not bad for a $40 "target" rifle.

Look forward to being part of this community.

    Bruce and Lois
